Panjim Cycling Club (PCC) – Century Ride – 100km

PCC centurion ride , the first edition of the signature event of Panjim Cycling Club that was held on the 19th of Dec, the liberation day of Goa finished setting a impressive mark in everyone's hearts.

The event witnessed participation from of over 180 riders from across Goa and beyond with a visible representation from the affiliate club network of Cycling Goa, namely- Xaxti Riders, Slopes & Bends- Ponda, Vasco Cycling Club.

The flag off was done at sharp 6.30 am by the Mayor of the City of Panjim, Mr Uday Madkaikar.

The ride passed through some of the most picturesque parts of Goa including the famous Old Goa Church, climbs of Kundaim & Farmagudi near Ponda, Usgaon, Valpoi, Amona and the scenic Gaundalim bridge. The cool weather in December month further added to the riding pleasure.

The ride witnessed a number of first time centurions who were delighted to reach the finish point to receive their well deserved medal. The ride also had something exciting for the faster riders with a competitive segment to win at the Kundaim climb. The winners of the same in mens category were Vinayak Gaonkar, Pradip Kolhapte while the women winners were Blanche Themudo and Nicole Pavri.

The end point offered some of the best in class facilities to the riders including stretching facilities, food and drinks raising the benchmark for endurance events to be held in the years to come.

It was wonderful event, well organized with good support on the way, Route was fantastic, Enjoyed the route to the fullest, Wish many more to come, Thank You everyone who was involved in organizing, The packet of chikki (I thought ) was something new & wonderful, arrangement after the ride for physiotherapy was out of box idea & totally amazed, I would rate the event 5/5 , keep going, keep doing many more!!!!
